INTERNSHIPS AT THE WANNA PLAY PROGRAM

The Wanna Play Program Internships are designed to give students hands on experience working with children with special needs. The interns are involved in all aspects of the program here at Wanna Play and are considered members of our staff. Most of the work will be administrative but during every internship there will be direct work with children (3 – 17 yr old) with special needs working on social skills training in lesson and activity development. Interns are involved in assisting with planning, running and note taking/reporting for group and individual sessions. Interns are giving an orientation and receive on going training through observation and feedback. Interns are also offered free admission to any training programs for parents and professionals offered during their internship.
