Individual Sessions
The Wanna Play Program is committed to building interaction, play skill and social communication, while laying the foundation for flexibility, behavior support and continued social awareness. Individual sessions at The Wanna Play Program will be tailored to the specific needs of each child. Facilitators develop an appropriate program focusing on the individual needs identified through close consultation with parents and other professionals.
Individual sessions are often used to develop a foundation of initiation, interaction and engagement. We feel that the one on one interaction is a great way to introduce social interactive skills in a nurturing environment, in an effort to prepare each child for more challenging social situations. Often, children who come to The Wanna Play Program require individual sessions prior to continuing on in the program. As the child progresses through The Wanna Play Program, individual sessions can be used to supplement instruction in both social dyads as well as social group settings.
